We arrrived in London at approximately 7am local time. After the group passed through security and customs we met up with Dr. Merrick our group leader. The first thing that we did was go to our hotel and drop off our luggage. Our first activity in London was to go to Buckingham Palace and see the Changing of the Guard ceremony. We met up with our tour guide, Tom, and he started our walking tour. We saw the changing of the guard ceremony and it was like nothing I had ever seen before. Today we also went and saw Westminster Abbey. Westminster Abbey was a very beutiful church. The church is the tradtional placce of coronation. After dinner we went to see the London Eye. The London Eye is a huge ferris wheel that takes approximately 30 minutes to go fully around. Each part of the ferris wheel can hold a big group of people. The whole thing is glass so that you can see all of London. We chose to go at night so that we could see London lit up at night time.
